Your rocket ship will take you to each of the planets, starting with Earth. When you save humans, they are teleported to your rocket ship. To escape the planet you must also collect rocket fuel. Once The Giant Brain has been defeated and peace restored to the galaxy, you will return to Earth with your human cargo where they will be freed.

Gameplay consists of you (Adrienne) trying to piece together what went on in this new mansion you just bought, what's wrong with your husband, and generally trying to stay alive. You can save pretty much anywhere by placing a "bookmark" via a save feature. You have to name your saved games using a clumsy typewriter interface in which you have to click each letter (no numbers allowed). One nice feature regarding saving on the last chapter is that the next time you play Phantasmagoria, you'll have the option to watch a movie of what you've done so far (7th chapter only). This helps considerably if you've been banned from your computer for a week or two by your wife!
