Celtic Kings is a real time game that blends strategy, role-playing and adventure elements. There are two modes of playing the game that complement each other Ð adventure mode and strategic mode.
In strategic mode, you play against computer opponents or other players on the Internet exercising your strategic and tactical skills to achieve objective victory. The Beginning

The Setting
The adventure takes place in the Gaul lands during CaesarÕs conquest of Gaul. Four main forces have strong and conflicting interests in the area. The struggle between them defines the world of Celtic Kings. First, there are the Gauls. They are numerous and brave but separated tribes. They fight in their own lands but often among themselves. Their pride and religion often gets in the way to victory. The lack of unity makes them weak as never before.
Rome is a mighty state with progressive social order and advanced military knowledge. Its social structure requires constant expansion wars. Julius CaesarÕs brilliant leadership, however, makes Rome a deadly enemy. He seeks to conquer Gaul for glory and fortune in his quest to become the sole leader of Rome. The Teutons represent the united German tribes. They cross the river Rhein every year, seeking to expand their influence or simply to plunder. They are a fearsome and numerous force, but they do not have long-term plans for conquest and expansion. They seek fortune and glory through victory and self-gratification.
The mysterious Druids wield horrifying and ancient powers. A few of them are enough to stop a full-scale army. They weave the patterns that make nations prosper and states decay.

Mission Briefing: Titan Colony is being held captive by a vast, orbiting sentient supercomputer. The computer, Cybernetic Holistic Autonomous Orbiting Server (C.H.A.O.S.), was created by colony scientists for research and education. But now, something has gone wrong.

All the colonists had biochips implanted in their brains through which they should have received education from C.H.A.O.S. But instead, the supercomputer began using the colonists' biochip implants to control them.

Overview:
The world's governments have collapsed in economic ruin and big
business has taken over. A new unified government has been installed
under one corporation, which soon begins a campaign of mass
censorship -- banning alcohol, drugs, pornography, weapons, music --
in order to ensure its power and further its own corruption. Under
this yoke of oppression, organized crime flourishes, terrorizing the
population even while providing the hedonistic, sinful pastimes that
the people crave. Huge bribes convince the government to look the
other way, and the criminal organizations flourish and grow, uniting
under their new leaders, the Chaos Overlords.
Game Background:
You are a Chaos Overlord. Your job? To dominate the city and bring it
under your control. The people can't stop you. The government won't
stop you. But there are other Overlords out there who want what you
want, and they will stop at nothing to get it. Will you?
The Game:
When starting a new game, the first thing you must decide is what
type of scenario you want to play. You can strive for more success
than your competition (more cash, influence, etc., or a combination
of areas) within a certain time frame, attempt to achieve a single
objective ( i.e. eliminate a rival), or simply kill off everyone else
and be the sole survivor.
CO is a turn-based game, i.e. you select actions for all of your gangs while your opponents do the same. Once everyone has finished their selection, combat, if any, is fought, results are shown (new sites influenced, crackdowns occurred, etc.), then you begin again. A simple turn might go something like this: You hire a new gang, the Bad Artists (not the best move on your part), have your Right Hands create a little chaos, have the Trantian Fusers begin research on an assault rifle, send your Middlemen to the next sector with plans to control it (next turn), and have your Emerald Order attack The Gecko's Shock Troopers, who have invaded your territory. When you have finished your commands you click 'Done,' and the following might happen. The Bad Artists show up, ready for orders, your cash increases from the Right Hands' shakedown, research is begun on the rifle (research usually takes several turns), the Middlemen move, and the Emerald Order whales on the Shock Troopers. The next turn begins.
